Yes, saw the reference in the side thread, and followed it up. Lots of
reasons given why it isn't too practical, but...

I have a largish area of polycarbonate conservatory roof, and that's
more sensitive to light rain than sticking your head outside, and is
deafening in a downpour. I had quite seriously thought of adding a
transducer to its underside to see if there was any corrolation in
the sound volume (c/f energy of raindrops). Unfortunately it clicks
when the sun comes up, and pigeons are fond of walking across it...
