[Weather] Anemometer not detected?

Hi all,
I am attempting to use the OWW software on a Linksys NSLU2 "Slug".
The modification to the Slug went very well. I am having problems with
detecting the Anemometer.

I am able to read direction and temp but not wind speed.

I am using the USB adaptor with the very short curly cable supplied.
I have tried manually placing the following line in the devices file.
anem EE00000025CD3981 1.000000

Placing the line in the devices stopped the Anemometer not found messages.
Assign now lists all three sensors.

But still no wind speed readout?

I am worried by a previous post on this list claiming that the source code
show that Anem sensors must end with "1D" and mine ends with "81"  ??
Sensors were purchased last week. Is it possible that new devices now end
with "81" and are not functional?
