[Weather] oww and wunderground google map rain discrepancy

It doesn't rain much in the Los Angeles area so when it does it's a big 
deal.  I've gotten about 1/3" of rain in the last 6 hours which I can 
see in the oww debug message which comes out once a minute as well as in 
the RRD graphs but when I look at the wunderground google map for my 
zipcode and set the display type to precipitation, it says N/A for the 
amount of rain.  I'm pretty sure the last time it rained I got something 
or at least 0.0 after it had stopped.

According to the summary table on the right , it says "- in".    But if 
you check my history, its says I've gotten 0.28in for the day but in the 
hourly rainfall rate in the tabular section shows all zeros.

what's the value for rainin?  Is it inches per minute or hour or what?  
Where is the wunderground update script parameters documented?

So why the discrepancy?  I thought maybe the battery in my AAG rain 
counter had died but oww is showing the cumulative amount going up and 
both the oww and oww_client gui's are showing what I'd expect.
