[Weather] Request for information

Something that you might ask yourself is what do you want from a
weather station. My system is based around 1-wire products from AAG
and Hobby-Board with Oregon Scientific, La Crosse, and some of my own
design. The software includes OWW running on an old Dell desktop with
Linux. I collect the data and display it graphs on my web site.
I
have spent an awful lot of time writing PERL, PHP, SQL and HTML code to
get what I want. It's been a lot of fun learning as I go. It has also
been frustrating when some of the data that I collected turned out to
be bogus because of calibration issues or lack of a radiation shield or
what ever. Some times the system just stopped working and at the most
inconvenient time.
So now with several years of tinkering and
finally a system that is reliable and provides that data that I want,
would I have been better off spending the money for a Davis Advantage
Pro? For me the answer is yes, but it has been a lot of fun along the
way.
Chris

What are some of the best resources for purchasing the base
system (wind speed/direction/temp)?

I have seen many on the www but the pricing is all over the place.
