If you want textfiles, you could run Oww (http://oww.sf.net) on the
NSLU2 let it make the text files.  But if you need to do any kind of
heavy processing, you probably want to do that on a real pc.  The
speed of the NSLU2 is something like an old 486SX66.

In my opinion, the neat thing about using an NSLU2 is that it only
needs a few watts of power and will run for hours on a UPS.  I use
flash cards for its main filesystem.  Two cards, in fact, set up as
raid1, so if one card fails, I can replace and reconstruct even
without a reboot.
